How to use the Crossword Solver
Type the letters you know and a ? for each square you don’t. For example C?O?S?O?D finds CROSSWORD. The length of your pattern is the length of the answer.
Crossword solving tips
Fill in the short answers first – they give you crossing letters for the long ones. Plurals often end in S and past tenses in ED, so it’s usually safe to pencil those in. When you have a few letters of an answer, type them here with a ? for each gap to see every word that fits.
For cryptic crosswords, every clue has two parts: a straight definition at the start or end, and wordplay for the rest. Anagram indicators (“mixed”, “broken”, “wild”) and hidden-word indicators (“in”, “some”, “part of”) are good places to start.

Not yet – the solver works from letter patterns.
Can I use spaces or underscores?
Yes, ? . _ and * all mean a missing letter.
